Gender Dimensions of Economic Collapse
Read more:  women, woman and child, gender relations, labor, work force, closure, checkpoints, World Bank
Summary: This two-year collaborative research project of the World Bank explores the impact of economic distress in the occupied Palestinian territories upon women and gender relations. Its findings are that the checkpoints and closure that cause a failing economy engender violence in  the home and community. In addition, women are seeking out new forms of labor - mostly unmeasured by traditional means.
