A statement issued by
Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades
January 17, 2002

"At a time Zionist invaders continue with their official organized terror against our people and in an act aiming at striking field and political unity of all national and Islamic factions in confronting the occupation, PA security apparatuses arrested comrade Ahmad Sa’dat, the Secretary General of PFLP, in compliance to Zionist – US dictations in order to pay to the Zionist enemy the price of free movement of Yasser Arafat in exchange of arresting the national leader and harm Palestinian national steadfastness and unity.

We consider this arrest a serious phenomenon and a blatant aggression against legitimacy of PLO. We call PA to immediately release comrade Ahmad Sa’dat and all of the Palestinian political detainees and we hold it responsible for any inflicted harm on them.

We warn leaders of PA security apparatuses precisely Tawfiq al-Tirawi, Director of intelligence in West Bank and Muhammad Salah, Director of Ramallah police, of continuing with arresting our cadres and leaders or else our hands will reach them regardless to the intensive security around them.

We call national and Islamic factions to continue to act on releasing comrade Sa’dat and all of the detainees in PA jails.

Our sole option and path is the path of struggle, Intifada, and resistance until getting rid of occupation and achieving rights of our people.

Long live al-Aqsa Intifada and independence
Glory for the martyrs and recovery for the injured
And victory for our struggling people
