A statement issued by the National and Islamic Forces
November 25, 2000

Following are excerpts of a statement issued by the National and Islamic Forces on November 25, 2000; signatories are: Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fateh); Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP); Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas); Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP); Palestinian People’s Party (PPP); Palestinian Democratic Union (FIDA); Palestinian Popular Struggle Front; Palestinian Liberation Front; Islamic Jihad Movement; Arab Liberation Front; Palestinian Arab Front; Popular Front—General Command; Islamic National Salvation Party; and Popular Liberation War Pioneers (Sa’iqa):

Our heroic masses,

The Intifada of our victorious Palestinian people, the Intifada of al-Aqsa, Jerusalem, Independence and Return, enters its third month with more strength and determination to achieve the just goals of our people, mainly the defeat of occupation and Independence.
We in the national and Islamic forces congratulate our Palestinian masses and Moslems in our Arab and Islamic world on the occasion of the blessed Month of Ramadan, wishing our people and Arab and Islamic masses liberty, progress and prosperity; we call upon all official and popular forces in the Arab and Islamic world and at the international level to exert efforts towards ending the Zionist oppressive siege imposed on the blessed al-Quds and towards confronting the Israeli measures that aim to deprive our masses from reaching the Aqsa Mosque to hold their prayers in it; these Israeli measures are in violation to the most basic human and religious rights; Israel prevents worshippers from reaching their holy sites to perform their religious rituals.
We also call on our masses to show respect to the sanctity of this sacred month and observe it with obedience and prayers and especially on Fridays at Aqsa Mosque.

Our heroic masses,

The Zionist Israeli enemy escalated its barbaric aggression and assassinations against our national and struggling Palestinians; it also escalated the measures of isolating the cities and village along with tightened economic siege measures in order to abort the Intifada of our people and break their will and determination. The national and Islamic forces affirm that the will and Intifada of our people will break and destroy the illusions of the occupiers; the national and Islamic forces call on our masses and their national institutions and popular committees to continue the path of struggle and Intifada and confront the occupation soldiers and settlers all over the Palestinian homeland.

The forces also call on our masses to participate in the following activities:

  • To confirm on the activity of Sunday, November 26, 2000: massive solidarity marches that head towards the International Red Cross headquarters and demand the halt of the barbaric aggression against our people and temporary international protection and release of our Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
  • Wednesday, November 29, 2000: marking the Solidarity Day with the Palestinian people, the National and Islamic Forces call on our masses and their forces to translate this day into a day of popular marches that start from centers of Palestinian cities and villages and to be concluded with mass rallies in the Palestinian districts.
  • Friday, December 1, 2000: popular marches and a call to break the siege and open the roads leading to cities, villages and camps.
  • Sunday, December 3, 2000: Popular marches to reinforce national unity.

Victory to the Intifada
Defeat to the occupying enemy
Pride and Immortality to our martyrs
It is a continuous Intifada to remove occupation and for independence
