The Palestinian leadership statement regarding
the Arafat Peres cease - fire understanding
November 2000

The Palestinian leadership which has proved its abidance and commitments in agreements is watching carefully the extent to which the Israeli side is honoring the understanding reached regarding the withdrawal of occupation troops and their military forms from all regions, cities and residential areas that were occupied and transgressed after September 28, and stop the aggressions against the unarmed Palestinian people and end all forms of the siege.

The Palestinian leadership also expects to see the Israeli government restrain the settlers and stop them from committing crimes against the Palestinian people. The Palestinian people which made sure that the Intifada stays a peaceful and popular expression and exercised self-restraint throughout the past period in face of the aggressions, calls on the Palestinian people and their national forces to cling to the peaceful means of expression and national action as part of the Palestinian people determination to achieve their national and legitimate rights.

Achieving the peace of the brave that provides security and justice to all peoples in the region require actual abidance by the international legitimacy resolutions that constitute the terms of reference to the peace process, stipulating the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions 242, 338, and 194 and full withdrawal till the June 4, 1967 borders and securing our people's right in return and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state with al-Quds al-Shareef as its capital.
