Ramallah - April 5, 2002 - WAFA - We are committed as a Palestinian Leadership and President Arafat to the peace process and we are committed to the immediate implementation of UNSCR 1402, and we are committed to the implementation of Tenet Understandings and the Mitchell's Report, and to the Oslo Accord that we signed with our late partner Yitshaq Rabin. We must not be blamed when we face aggression on our people, cities, camps and we defend our people.

We welcome the declaration made by President Bush on the halt of Israeli military invasions in the Palestinian territories and the halting of settlement activities and the immediate end of closure and the immediate withdrawal from the Palestinian territories and without conditions, in addition to the importance of halting the attacks against the Christian and Islamic Sites, especially what is happening against the Nativity Church at these difficult times and the immediate halt of all acts and operations of the Israeli army.

On our side, we are committed and without any conditions to the declaration of President Bush and to the importance of the Initiative of Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Ben Al Su'ud, which has become an Arab Initiative.
