Arafat - Peres cease-fire understanding
November 2000


The Palestinian and Israeli sides agreed during a meeting on November 1st, 2000 in Gaza to end the violent and armed confrontations and to withdraw the Israeli occupation army from the entrances and surroundings of Palestinian towns and populated areas.

This agreement will be in force starting Thursday morning November the 2nd pending that these measures will be ensued by ending all measures of closure and siege that the Israeli side took during the past weeks.

The Palestinian leadership calls upon the Palestinian people and all of its national forces to maintain a unified stance and remain united. [Also], to only suffice to popular expressions by committing to peaceful means, at all circumstances, in their just national struggle in order to achieve the legitimate national rights of freedom and independence.
