RAMALLAH, July 10 (JMCC) - Israeli author David Grossman was reportedly injured at a Friday demonstration against Jewish settlement in Sheikh Jarrah, occupied East Jerusalem.

Dozens of the demonstrators tried to cross a police barrier near the demonstration site and to protest in front of the entrance to the Jewish homes in the area but were stopped by a human chain of Border Police officers, according to police reports. Among the protesters that attempted to approach the houses were famous Israeli author David Grossman and MK Zahava Gal-On (Meretz).

Grossman was said to have been hit by a policeman with a club during the incident, according to the protest's organizers.
