Gaza on Sunday said that
Israel has restricted the building of new schools in the Gaza Strip by barring the entry of construction material, according to
Xinhua.
...The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) planned to build eight schools in the enclave, but Israel refused to allow construction materials for four schools into Gaza, said Adnan Abu Hassna, the UNRWA's spokesman.
The building process of the permitted four schools is complicated and slow, Abu Hassna told Xinhua.
On Friday, Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post reported that Hamas authorities had provided the UNRWA with land to build the schools near military installations for the Islamic movement.
However, Abu Hassna said the schools would be located in populated areas that are in badly need for new schools.
He added that contacts between Israel and his agency are underway, noting that international mediation is always needed to resolve the smallest differences between the two sides...
