JERUSALEM, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Israeli military forces killed two Palestinian militants along the border fence in the northern
Gaza Strip on Thursday, the Israeli army said.
Israeli aircraft and tanks fired at armed Palestinians near
Israel's security fence on the Gaza border, an Israeli army spokesman said.
He added that the bodies of two armed men belonging to the
Islamic Jihad militant group were retrieved from the border by Israeli troops.
No Palestinian militant group made any comment on the incident.
Israel has said it holds Islamist group
Hamas, which controls the coastal enclave, responsible for any attacks against the Jewish state. (Writing by Maayan Lubell; editing by Philippa Fletcher)
