RAMALLAH, Feb 23 (JMCC) - Police have confirmed that four Jewish boys were arrested earlier this month for alledgedly attacking and killing a 24-year old Arab boy in Jerusalem. After a gag order on the case was lifted, it was revealed two of the Jewish boys were from illegal settlements in the West Bank, the other two were Jerusalemites, and all were intoxicated when the violence occured.
Police, according to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, suspect that the stabbing had nationalistic motives.
The four boys, two of whom are from Jerusalem and two of whom are from settlements in the West Bank, were allegedly getting drunk together on the night of February 11. They encountered two Arab boys while in the city's center and allegedly attacked them unprovoked.
The Arab boys fought with two of the attackers, while the two other suspects apparently joined the fight as it continued. During the fight, one of the attackers pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the Arab boys to death. The victim was 24 years of age.
