RAMALLAH, Feb 24 (JMCC) - Palestinians will have the chance to view a painting by Pablo Picasso in April,
reports Radio Netherlands Worldwide.
The Van Abbe museum in Eindhoven is lending a Picasso painting to the Palestinian art academy in Ramallah. The 1943 canvas Buste de Femme will be on show in Ramallah during the month of April.
This is the first time a work by such a major artist has been on public display in the Palestinian territories. It will be housed in a specially constructed room in the art academy with adequate temperature and humidity controls.
The painting's passage from Eindhoven to Ramallah is part of a joint project by the museum and the international art academy, and a film will be made of its journey, including the Israeli border and other checkpoints on the road to Ramallah.
