RAMALLAH Feb 24 (JMCC) - The UN report on Israel's war in Gaza last winter will be on the agenda of both the European Union and United Nations this week.
The EU parliament, meeting in Brussels, will discuss what has become known as the Goldstone report at its Wednesday meeting.
Also, the United Nations General Assembly will debate a resolution Friday to extend the deadline for responses to the Goldstone another five months.
Israel, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas all submitted responses to the report as requested to the UN secretary general, but Ban Ki-Moon was non-committal as to whether the report's requirements had been met.
The Goldstone report charges both Israel and Hamas with war crimes in their execution of the 22-day war. The report has become the basis for possible war crimes trials in Europe of leading Israeli politicians.
