RAMALLAH, May 23 (JMCC) -
Israel is starting its largest civil defense drill ever Sunday. The drill is planned to last five days, ending on Wednesday.
The extent of the drill has some in the region worried that Israel is planning a war.
It comes at a time when tensions are high between Israel and
Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed guerrilla group that resides in Lebanon on Israel's northern border. Israel has also warned Iran over its nuclear development program.
Hezbollah has reportedly stationed fighters along the border in case of an Israeli attack during the drill.
This is the fourth annual civil defense drill, an exercise begun after it was found that Israel's home front was unprepared for the 2006 war with Hezbollah.
