JERUSALEM, May 25 (JMCC) - Clashes broke out Monday evening in
Isawiya, a neighborhood in north-eastern
Jerusalem, between residents and Israeli soldiers.
The Israeli forces were in the area to distribute several demolition orders to the owners of homes allegedly constructed without a building permit.
Witnesses reported that Israeli forces fired live ammunition and gas canisters at stone-throwing protesters. No injuries were reported.
The operation, underway from the morning hours, resulted in the arrests of several Palestinians.
