Naser al-Qidweh, a member of Fateh, was minister of foreign affairs during the ninth Palestinian government between February 2005 and March 2006.

Al-Qidweh was born in Gaza in 1953. He graduated as a doctor of dental medicine and surgery from Cairo University in 1979, and then became an executive member of the Palestinian Red Crescent. He is a nephew of the late Yasser Arafat.

He joined Fateh in 1969, became a member of the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS) Executive Committee in 1974, and later was made GUPS president. He was a Palestinian National Council member from 1975, a member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Central Council from 1981 and represented the Students Union until 1986. From 1989 he was a member of the Fateh Revolutionary Council. He was the unofficial Palestinian observer in the United Nations from 1986, and became the permanent observer in 1991.
