He was born in Kuwait in 1963 and holds a BSc in mathematics from the University of Memphis. He was the Gaza branch coordinator of the Arab Bank. Prior to that he worked at the Bank of Palestine in the Gaza Strip, where he became director. He was treasurer of the Palestine Investment Fund, secretary general of the Palestine Banking Association, a member of the Palestine Food Industries Company and a member of the Palestine National House of Books.
