Palestinian Factions boycotted the Presidential Elections
Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas": Hamas boycotts the Presidential Elections and will not support any of the candidates.
Hamas figure Saeed Syam said in a statement one week before the elections that Hamas position regarding the elections is constant and has not changed which is to boycott the elections in voting and nomination. The Movement will not support any candidate.
Islamic Jihad Movement: Jihad Movement boycotts the Presidential Elections and will not support any of the candidates.
Popular Front "General Command": Popular Front boycotts the Presidential Elections and will not support any of the candidates.
Popular Front for Liberation Palestine “PFLP”: PFLP reaffirmed that it will not participate in the Presidential Elections. But declares support to candidate Mustafa Barghouthi after reaching a “National Democratic Program”.
Dr. Rabah Mhanna, Politburo member of the PFLP, called in a press conference held at Ramattan News Agency in the city of Gaza on all cadres and members of the Front to support Barghouthi and vote for him.
Ahmad Sa'dat, the Secretary General of the PFLP, called on all PFLP members of the Front to support Mustafa Barghouthi in the elections.
In Damascus, Dr. George Habash, the founder of the PFLP, expressed his support to Barghouthi and to the national program that has been agreed upon since it clings to the national constants and the struggle against occupation.
