GRAVE TIMES NOW …AND THENA letter from the editor
Dear reader,
Due to the unfortunate events that have swept Palestine during the past month. This Week in Palestine will not be able to cover all the forthcoming events that might take place in November since it has been difficult to confirm all of these events.
Furthermore, this issue is somewhat a special edition focusing, particularly, on Jerusalem since we view the situation inappropriate for a 'normal' publication in these times when over 135 Palestinians were killed and over 4,000 injured in pursuit for their freedom.
Palestinians went to the streets to protest an occupation of Israel over Palestine. The incidents were ignited by an Israeli right-wing leader's visit to al-Aqua Mosque in Jerusalem's Old City in an attempt to demonstrate, along with 3,000 Israeli soldiers, that Israel is not ready to peacefully relinquish control over East Jerusalem and places of worship-- which Israel illegally occupied along with the West Bank and Gaza Strip during the 1967 war. The Palestinians value their freedom and refuse the deprivation of their human and political rights; they resisted.
Yet, the latest predicament is not in any way targeting our visitors. Palestinians continue to exercise excessive hospitality and respect for pilgrims, tourists and visitors of Palestine by welcoming them to their towns and homes.
The problem is with an Israeli occupation, whose negation reconstructs a land of peace.
