Abdel Karim Abu Salah was the Palestinian Authority minister of justice from April until October 2003.

Abu Salah was born in Khan Younis in 1955. He holds a BA in law and a master’s degree in international relations from Cairo University. He started his career as a lawyer and was active in the Palestinian bar association as well as in the Palestinian teachers’ association.

He took up the post as minister of justice having been chairman of the legal committee and member of the Palestinian Legislative Council’s budget and financial affairs committees. He was committed to improving the social conditions of Palestinians through the enactment of laws that aim to protect the weakest elements of Palestinian society. He also serves as a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Central Council.
