Summary:
This study examines the role of the Palestinian Legislative Council, its contribution to Palestinian democratic governance, and how it is perceived by the Palestinian public. It relies on a comprehensive opinion poll, a survey conducted among parliament members and interviews with political figures in making the argument that Palestinians are eager for democratic systems, but were early on feeling that the PLC and its members were ineffectual.
