RAMALLAH, March 14, 2016 - Most Palestinians say they support the current uprising or Intifada found
a poll released on Sunday by the Jerusalem Media and Communications Center. But with support at only 55 percent, most West Bank residents polled were opposed to the Intifada while 75.8 percent of Gaza residents were in favor of the stepped up demonstrations and attacks protesting Israel's occupation.
Similarly, the majority of respondents (56.2 percent) supported the continuation of knife attacks, which have marked this Intifada, while 41.1 percent opposed their continuation. A majority of support was found in Gaza, where 79.5 percent of those polled said they supported the stabbings in contrast to the West Bank, where the majority, or 53.9.%, were opposed to them.
The knife attacks have been taking place in the West Bank and Jerusalem where Palestinians come in regular contact with Israeli military personnel and settlers. The Gaza Strip is under Israeli blockade restricting the movement of people and goods and the military enforces from a distance a no-go zone on its perimeter.
