During the Palestinian uprisings, Palestinians often experienced extended periods of curfew brutally enforced by occupying Israeli forces. But the threat posed by the pandemic poses a new and different hardship. In the fight against COVID-19, the Palestinian leadership appears to have attained the public's trust.
Eighty-one percent of respondents said that they believe that the coronavirus poses a real threat, and 96% said that they trust the government's response. Moreover, most Palestinians polled were aware of symptoms of the virus and how to prevent its spread.
The survey had a sample size of 600, used randomly generated phone numbers and lasted about 10 minutes. The response rate was 83% and data was collected between March 29-31, 2020.
