Hamas says doors for reconciliation still open

RAMALLAH, November 16 (JMCC) – The doors for achieving an inter-Palestinian reconciliation are still open Ismail Hanieh, Prime Minister do the Hamas government ruling the Gaza Strip, said Tuesday.

Despite the American interference in the internal Palestinian affairs, the doors for reconciliation are still open, Haneya told thousands of prayers, who observed the Eid al-Adha Muslims' feast.

He added that his movement insists on achieving the Palestinian reconciliation and we are still committed to ending the internal Palestinian rift, referring to the rift with rival Fatah party led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The two rival groups announced in a meeting held in Damascus on Sept. 24 that they had agreed on some outstanding issues related to the general elections and reforming Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

However, the two groups failed to overcome their differences on the thorny security issue, which will be discussed after the Muslims' holidays.
