The mid-March survey comes as the Palestinian government led by Mahmoud Abbas has dissolved the Palestinian legislature, which was crippled by Israeli arrests and in-fighting after the opposition group Hamas took a majority of its seats in 2016.
Eighty-three percent of Palestinians polled wanted to see elections for the Legislative Council, and 87% approved of holding presidential elections, found the poll.
Reflecting lingering fears about the success of any elections, 45% of the respondents thought that a vote would be unfair. A slightly greater proportion of respondents in Gaza had faith in the elections process, compared with those in the West Bank.
