RAMALLAH, Feb 28 (JMCC) - Hamas' leader called on European states Saturday to act in the killing of a top Hamas commander.
Don't let the crime of Dubai pass, Syrian-based Khaled Mashaal said in a press conference.
It is widely believed that Israel's spy agency, the Mossad, killed Mahmoud Mabhouh in Dubai last month. The killers used 26 forged passports, most of them from European countries, United Arab Emirates officials believe.
If ignored, Mossad techniques could soon find their way to European lands, Mashaal said.
Don't let these Israeli crimes pass.
Investigations continue into the killing, with
Britain sending an official to Israel to interview dual nationals who say that their identities were stolen by the hit team that assassinated Mabhouh.
The Hamas commander was found smothered to death in his hotel room on January 20. Israel has maintained an official silence on the killing, although its foreign minister said there was no reason to implicate the Mossad.
