RAMALLAH,  Mar. 21 (JMCC) - Israel intends to confiscate 50 dunams of Palestinian land from the village of Beituna in the West Bank to prevent terror attacks on Route 443, according to Haaretz.

Given the need for steps to prevent a terror attack, 49.2 dunams of land from the village Bitunia are being expropriated for security needs, to build the Ofer crossing, states an order signed by GOC Central Command Avi Mizrahi.

The Israeli highway which runs through occupied Palestinian territory connecting Jewish settlements to Jerusalem and cities inside Israel will open to Palestinian traffic in two-and-half months, on order of the Israeli High Court.

Palestinians had previously been banned from driving or walking on the road.
