Muhammad Ibrahim Musa al-Barghouthi was minister of local government during the Palestinian national unity government from March until June 2007. He was previously minister of labor in the government formed in 2006 by Hamas.

Al-Barghouthi was born in 1962 in Ramallah. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and was a student of administration at al-Najah University, Nablus. He was arrested by the Israelis with several other Hamas ministers and spent 48 days in prison before being released. He is the general manager of the Islamic Charity in al-Bireh.
