He was born in 1961 in Jabaliya Camp, Gaza. He holds a BA in English and is an author and researcher. He worked as senior manager at the ministry of information as director of Israeli affairs and deputy director of external media. He spent a period between 1984 and 1996 in Israeli prisons.
