Ali al-Qawasmeh, a member of Fateh, was minister of youth and sports in the government from June 2002 until October 2002. He was first appointed to cabinet as minister of transportation in the government from 1998 until 2002.

He was born in 1942 and holds a BA in pharmacy and chemistry. He worked as a pharmacist before becoming involved in politics. He was elected to represent Hebron constituency for Fateh in the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC).
